Epic Battles Rage as New Champions Crowned at RMC Asia Festival 2024
Sepang International Kart Circuit, Malaysia – The pulse pounded and passions ran high today as the RMC Asia Festival reached its dramatic climax. With immortal glory on the line, RMCAF’s titans clashed in white-knuckle finals that will go down in Malaysian motorsport folklore.
In DD2 Masters, it was a clash of titans between #501 Ferna Ndo Guzzi and #539 Scott Howard. The Brazilian ace Guzzi emerged victorious, but not before fending off an epic challenge from Howard and the ever threatening #578 Roger Young.
The Max Masters title fight also went down to the wire. Japanese legend #401 Manabu Yamazaki faced his sternest test yet from compatriot #431 Kato Masanori, who pushed Yamazaki all the way to the checkered flag. Experience prevailed, with Yamazaki topping the rostrum ahead of Masanori and #456 Asbjoern Rolfing.
Eyes were also on the future of Malaysian motorsport in Junior Max, as home hero #213 Katrina Ee Wing Thung dueled Thailand’s #227 Krittach Jirayupa. But it was Japanese prodigy #258 Shun Sekiguchi who ultimately prevailed atop an incredibly close podium.
In Mini Max, Hong Kong’s #168 John Han narrowly edged out Thai ace #164 Poomjit Klomblungjong in a scintillating showdown between Asia’s rising karting talents. The atmosphere hit fever pitch when Han took the win.
Micro Max saw yet another titanic tussle, with Thai young gun #65 Patthapol Kaewkanjanasat beating Japanese rival #99 Eito Hosokawa! These moments underscore the fierce competition throughout RMCAF 2024.
But the closest fight of all came in Senior Max. Indonesian #368 Prassetyo Hardja claimed the title in a sensational see-saw scrap with Hong Kong’s #308 Yu Ka Po. Their epic encounter will be spoken of for years to come at Sepang.
Max Masters was a special category that was held just for this event for the drivers who wished to race in this category. These veterans showed they still have plenty of fight left, pushing their machines to the limit in spectacular displays of skill and bravery. Their passion for the sport burns as bright as ever, lighting the way for future generations.
After a long day of battles we all gathered at the podium ceremony to celebrate these winners and also the DD2 Max Masters champion, Senior Max champion, Junior Max champion, Mini Max champion and Micro Max champion got their grand final tickets and all the classes including the Max Masters champion got their podium prize money which was a prize pull of Rm 400,000. The electricity in the air was palpable as excited chatter filled the paddock, everyone reflecting on an unforgettable race week full of daring drives and memorable moments that will echo through time.
After this amazing race, we move on to the RMC Asia Trophy that will take place in Langkawi on April 20 – 21, 2024.
